MHS Graduate’s Art Currently Showcased at R. W. Norton Museum

The paintings of nationally recognized fine artist and Louisiana native, Daniel Mark Cassity, on exhibit for “AMERICAN STILL LIFES” at Shreveport’s R.W. Norton Museum, have been on display since March 4th, with the
date extended until August 31. The exhibition will contain sixty-six paintings by fourteen nationally recognized artists, including Cassity’s who only recently moved from Shreveport to Hot Springs, AR.

Logansport Friends of the Library to Hold Annual “90 Plus Birthday Party”

The Logansport Friends of the Library will hold their annual “Ninety Plus Birthday Party” for local residents that are age ninety and above on Friday, August 8 at 10:00 AM. The event will be held at the Logansport Library Conference Room. Refreshments of punch, cookies and finger foods will be served to the honorees and their guests.

Lost Mastiff Reunited with Stonewall Family

TUCKER IS HOME!!! This missing mastiff recently escaped from a Stonewall Animal Clinic where he was being boarded while his family was on vacation.  Owner Julie McFadden McConathy said, “Thank you to everyone who prayed for us, spent many hours and tanks of gas looking, developed sore throats from calling, left special treats on front porches, ran through the woods chasing, called us with reports and sightings, and everyone else that put up with us. If you see flashlights outside your house tonight, call the police because, thank Jesus, it's not us!”

Gourd Painting Class at DeSoto Arts Council

On July 19th gourd painting artist, Mary Martinez will offer gourd painting for ages 13 and up at the DeSoto Arts Council Art Gallery in Grand Cane. Class time begins at 10am on July 19th and ends at noon. Payment is $15.00 
and full payment is required at the time of sign-up. All supplies for class are included in the $15.00 and each child walks away with a painted gourd

Books and Biscuits reads THE INVENTION OF WINGS

Books and Biscuits Book Club met July 1, 2014 at the Village Cuisine for a delicious chicken quiche and discussion of this month's book THE INVENTION OF WINGS by Sue Mond Kidd. There were 22 women present for
the book discussion. Discussion leader Debbie Carr introduced the historical novel by telling the group what were the actual facts of the novel and what were the author's additions.
